The Doctors

Florence Bejian, OD

Dr. Florence Bejian received her undergraduate degree from Merrimack College in North Andover, MA earning a BA in Biology in 1982. She attended the New England College of Optometry in Boston and received her Doctorate in 1986. She is licensed in the State of Massachusetts and a member of the Massachusetts Society of Optometrists and the American Optometric Association. She specializes in contact lens fits of all types such as soft, gas permeable and bifocals. Dr. Bejian has been practicing in the town of Chelmsford since 1986.


John A. Duggan, OD

Dr. John Duggan is a 1967 graduate of the Mass College of Optometry. He worked at the Fernald School (Green Blind Unit) in Belmont, Massachusetts until joining the reserves in January 1968. In April 1968, he was on active duty at Fort Sam Houston, San Antonio, Texas, until moving to Fort. Myer, VA as the staff optometrist. In January 1969, he began a year of duty in Vietnam, attached to the 67th evacuation hospital in Qui Nhon. After returning stateside, Dr. Duggan began a three month position as a staff Optometrist at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, D.C. He was in active duty until April 1970 and then joined Dr. Ralph Clements in Lowell, MA. In 2006 he relocated his office with Dr. John MacKenzie in Courthouse Lane in Chelmsford. Dr. Duggan practices general optometry with a special interest in low vision and contact lenses.


John H. MacKenzie, OD

Dr. John Mackenzie had been practicing in Chelmsford since 1969. He received his Bachelor of Science degree from Merrimack College and then his doctorate from the Massachusetts College of Optometry in 1969. He was a staff optometrist for Doctors Porter and Tucker in Lowell from 1969 until 1978. He then purchased their practice and remained there until present. In1983 Dr. MacKenzie opened an auxiliary office with Dr. John Duggan and they have jointly maintained that office until joining in with Dr. Bejian in 2015. Dr. MacKenzie is a lifetime member of both the American Optometric Association and the Massachusetts Optometric Association. He enjoys spending his free time with his wife Janice and is a proud father of 5 daughters and eight grandchildren. He enjoys swimming, hiking, old records, photography and going to the gym.
